Remember When I Used To Post More Than Once a Week? Ah, Those Were the Days.

Oh, pretty blogaroo, how I have neglected you. Please don't be mad. I still love you! I've just got other stuff going on, you know? But I have a present for you: A list of bullet points! I knew you'd like it. You know as well as I do that coherent paragraphs and transitions are for losers.

* This is old news for those of you who read Mickey's blog, but we went to see Over the Rhine last week at the historic Bijou Theater in downtown Knoxville, and it was delightful. It was our second concert in less than a week. We are such party people! If you're not familiar, Over the Rhine is a sort of throwback jazzy/bluesy band that seems like something F. Scott Fitzgerald would have listened to, and their lead singer has one hell of a voice. You know how some bands sound fine on their albums but when you see them live they sound like a bunch of dying cats? I hate that. But Over the Rhine is the real deal. Also, the nearly century-old Bijou is not only beautiful, but legendary for its perfect acoustics. It was definitely the tamest concert I've ever been to, but also one of the best.

* Once again, my sidebar is begging for your attention. Last night we went to a gathering of blogfriends and peripheral blogfriends on the roof of one of the downtown buildings, which was super fun. In attendance were Em (who we'd already met), Stan, Robert, and The Pol from The Sunsphere is Not a Wig Shop, along with their friends and significant others, all of whom are lovely people. Now the only Wig Shop personnel we haven't met is CK, but we did see him once, so I'm counting that as proof all of them actually exist. Please note that the Wig Shop has been moved up into the territory of Real Life friends in my blogroll. Whee! It is a bit bittersweet, however, because most of these people will be leaving Knox Vegas pretty soon (a lot of them are moving en masse to St. Louis, ironically, where I just turned down a job offer. Apparently that arch is a vortex that sucks in people from East Tennessee.) Anyway, I'm glad to have met all of them.

* Has anyone seen the documentary The King of Kong? It's about the world record holder for Donkey Kong and another guy who arguably should be the world record holder. Basically it comes down to whether the high score should belong to the guy who beat the record in public, in front of an audience, as opposed to the guy who only mailed in a videotape of himself breaking the record. It's a pretty entertaining movie, if for no other reason than to laugh at the mega-geeks that take video games seriously. I recommend it.

* If you are a fan of The Office (and if you're not, you should be, idiot) you should go check out Jenna Fischer's MySpace page. Recently she had a little Q&A session with her readers and wrote a bunch of stuff about The Office, her movie career, and her life in general. Of course, I didn't submit any questions because I prefer to keep my distance from MySpace, but I think it's really cool when a famous person takes the time to connect with her fans like that. Jenna seems like a nice and approachable person (although, having never met her, I can't be entirely sure. She could be a raving bitch for all I know. But if that's the case, she hides it well.)

* We're going to a wedding next weekend and I am having a fashion dilemma. But I think I'll milk that into a full post tomorrow. I assume you'll be on the edge of your seats until then.

I'm actually slouching comfortably on the sofa next to you, but I'm already aware of the dilemma anyway.

Weird, we saw King of Kong flipping through the Dish Network guide this afternoon, but we were with the in-laws so we didn't switch to it even though it was just starting. We did talk about what exactly it would be.

Katie and I LOVE Over the Rhine! We have seen them twice since moving back to Atlanta...

...and the conversation that my reading your blog out loud to Katie had me hitting up the band's website only to discover that they played at the Playhouse YESTERDAY! Arrrgh.

I blame you for being a blogcrastinator.

ANd Jenna Fischer happens to be a close personal myspace friend. Along with Tom, that guy is a FREAKIN' riot!

Blog and I will forgive you for your absence, assuming you make more of an effort in keeping up our relationship in the future.

Over the Rhine and Jenna Fischer are awesome. Never been much for Donkey Kong, but the movie sounds interesting. And I'm genuinely concerned about your fashion dilemma for the wedding! (BTW, you guys can definitely crash at our pad!)

Welcome back! I've got the King of Kong on my Netflix queue. Netflix thought I would like it since I enjoyed "Air Guitar Nation" so very much.

That was worth venturing over to myspace for. I have a myspace page for my site, but I never use it. I like Facebook.

Yay for bullet points! You are right: coherent paragraphs and transitions ARE for losers.

The roof was fun; so glad you guys came.

I would like to hear more about your fashion dilemma, but I have resigned myself to wait till tomorrow.

So: about your pending move to Boston...

In re: to your comment, I would love to meet you, Mickey and the Wigshoppers at First Friday. Just e-mail me at themoderngal@gmail.com to let me know where/when to meet you.

Also, I'm on the edge of my seat for any fashion dilemma. I have them often myself.

Having dated her at length, I can say Jenna Fischer is actually quite lovely, so long as she stays off the meth.

Apparently, I am all about the totally uncalled-for sarcasm today.
